There Sat A Boy

Across the busy café, there sat a boy, along the door-sized glass walls allowing the sun to shine upon him for warmth. Neither too fat nor too thin. With tanned skin from yesterday’s evening Sun and a pair of spectacles resting upon his nose bridge. With his little red hooded jacket by his side. There he was typing vigorously on his keyboard while looking at the screen. Not bothered by his surroundings. Like he is in his own world of tasks. The noise in the café does not seem to bother him but motivates him instead. Giving him the invisible push to get his work done better and faster. A few minutes have gone by, and he had finally stopped typing. Leaning back to the soft cushioned sofa, feeling satisfied with what he wrote. Stretching himself for a short break. Then, resume back to what he was doing. Typing vigorously on his keyboard and staring at the screen… again…

While I am away

While I’m away,
Please let my premium chair stay
Do mark the “presence” of its owner by giving it a coat
So that when I am back, the chair away it will not float
And that I can still enjoy the comfort it brings
For 2 more months before I leave
The fate of my butt and back depends on you both

Do me this favour while I’m away

Words

Numb

Loneliness. Emptiness. They seem to come in a package when you go for the singles route. Freedom. Carefree. They too, are in that package as well. Good thing about being single is that you do not need to care for a certain someone 24/7 neither do you need to report to that person about everything that you do. You do not have to compromise and tolerate with anything that you dislike. The freedom is yours to mix with whoever and whenever you want. It does sound as interesting as it looks but nothing is perfect and there is a price for everything.

This single package, however, does not come with love, warmth, care and a supportive shoulder from a special someone. Not to say that it cannot be obtained from other packages like friends and family but this is different. Well, maybe some may think that they are replaceable with the friends or family package but what if, they are all too busy with their lives to provide you with what you want? At that time, where can you turn to?

I am not saying that the package of love can be taken for granted nor it is only useful when you are stuck in some loneliness crap. I am saying that having someone whom you love by your side can be very comforting even though sometimes you may feel like you have lost your freedom. Nevertheless, everyone has their own way of seeing things. Some might agree, some might not.

Sometimes, loneliness can make you feel like it has been years since you last felt love when it was only several months, less than six months to be precise.

When you took the singles package, you will somehow sometimes regret for not taking the relationship package and when you finally go for the relationship package, you will hope to stay single instead. Funny how things go, isn’t it? Like I’ve said before, not everyone will think this way. Some may have a different point of view, different weakness to handle and different focus in life.

I have my fair share of heartache and joy which made me who I am, in a way. I am currently opting for the singles package and will continue to do so for as long as I have promised myself. I know what the package includes and excludes but I am willing to face the excludes despite how hard it may be. There are much more important things for me to focus on for now and changing my current package is not one of them. So, what’s your choice? What are you primary focus and which package will you pick?

I no longer know that feeling anymore. It died on the day “we” died.

A Tale of 2

She was there reading a book with a cup of freshly brewed coffee on the table. The atmosphere of the cafe was quietly calm with soft music being played. That was the type of place she fancied most. A place with solitaire but not loneliness. Bringing herself back to reality from her book, she took a sip and resume reading.

There he was, a part time waiter at the cafe. A guy who enjoy such atmosphere as well. He noticed that that was the first time she was here. One thing about her, he noticed, when she started reading, hardly anything can be done to divert her attention. Seemed like a typical book lover. Somehow, her interest in reading caught his attention that he could not help but to look at her every once in awhile.

She continue reading until her mum came in. She put the book down and looked while her mum sat down next to her. He took a short glimpse and resumed his work. She talked to her mum for awhile before a lady interrupted them. It was her mother’s friend who so happen to be the owner of the cafe. She greeted that lady and was asked about herself. Coincidently, that the college that she went to was the same as the lady’s son. Excited by this fact, the lady called out her son to join them at the table.

He quickly stopped working and walked towards the table. She was surprised to know that it was him. He was quite happy as he finally able to get the chance to know her better. How fate loves to play tricks. Smiled, he introduced himself to her. She did the same. Both their mothers excuse themselves leaving only the two of them at the table. They chatted on for quite some time.

He found her interesting. A girl who matched with the first impression she gave him. Mysterious on the surface but fun after the ice breaking. She was glad to finally have the chance of knowing him. He somehow managed to get her attention when she saw him for the first time. His smile was the charm to be precise and he was the first guy who actually knelt down before her. Extra credit for that, she thought, but then again, it was because she was sitting and he was too tall to be on a standing position to talk to her. However, it was only for awhile as that time there were no chairs vacant for that table.

She knew her mum was trying to eave drop from the next table. She chose to ignore that fact and continue talking to him. He was glad that they were able to see each other again when the semester starts. It was after awhile that her mother interrupted them saying that they have to get going. He checked the time only to realise that half an hour had passed. She was about to leave when he asked for her number. She gave it to him and he bid her goodbye.

Once her mum and her were out from the cafe, he texted her, “see you soon ;)”. Feeling her phone vibrate, she checked her phone and smiled. This might just be the start of something new.

Christmas

Sitting at the hawker centre with you, her and I. There we were, so much to share, so much to talk and gossip about. We got so carried away with our conversations that we did not realised that it had taken up 3 solid hours of our time. From a hawker centre full of customers into one with one or two tables of customers left, it was how we spent our Christmas eve that year. Filling it with nothing but tonnes and tonnes of talks and laughter.

On the way back, we stopped by the bank for she wanted to withdraw some money. There I was, accompanying her, adding in funny and ridiculous phrases after every sentence she sang, laughing with each other about it. It felt like a silent night alright. A night filled with warmth and smiles.

“Oh look! It’s Christmas already!” I said excitedly, pointing towards the digital clock in your car. “Merry Christmas, people!!!” I shouted out with joy to you and her. You both did the same as well. “This is one Christmas which I won’t forget, one which we filled it with our gossips and talks!!!” I laughed. The three of us continue talking while you fetched us back.

“You might have something new to look forward to soon, girl” she teased me when we were getting ready for bed. I blushed and denied saying that it was impossible when deep down, I knew I was swept off my feet by you. So there I was, talking about this so-called possibility with her back then. She was dropping some hints but I was too scared to analyse them. I was having cold feet!

Nevertheless, it was one Christmas which I would not forget. At the very least, not now, not so soon, for I know, those memories I had with you are irreplaceable and unforgettable. It was also because of her helping hand that we became what we wanted that time. ♥

Sudden Inspiration

Nothing is constant.

Nothing last forever.

Forever is just a myth.

It’s sad to see people walking their separate ways after a sweet chapter where they were once together. Things never come easy. Things will never be. For there are obstacles that test the strength of your determination and his/hers.

Each separation comes with a reason. Lame or reasonable, its not our decision. They chose the path they think its right so we as friends by their side should respect that. Even though deep down inside, we knows its was not what they had in mind. Still, decisions are made, tears are shed, hearts are broken. Nothing can be done to rewind what had happened.

There is a saying “If you love something, set it free. For if it comes back, it will always be yours” but there is also some believes that who ever was in their past shall remain as past for a new life with them again will not have a happy ending. So, which is which?

A couple that had been together for a very long time had broken up and moved on. They still keep in touch and everyone around them can see that they still love each other except for they themselves. So does this means that old lovers will have a chance to have a new life together again? Or it’s just a myth and that it will never happen in reality?

Some never know how to treasure until they had lost what they value most. Some learnt a lesson the hard way. Some made illogical decisions for they had been blurred by loneliness and emptiness. Those who had lost what they once valued will always envy those who still had theirs. Those who still had theirs normally will not realise how lucky they are to still have what they treasured.

Especially when problems are faced and tensions created, giving up was their whisperer. It’s like the snake persuading Eve to taste the apple. An easy path to escape problems. It was until the whisperer had won that they only realise it was too late to turn back. For hearts had already broken and hopes were gone. Nothing can be said to undo the wrong.

I once had what I treasured most but I took the easy path and learnt the lesson hard.

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

I’ll never regret

to have known you.

The past is now a memory of you and me,

tears were shed and hearts were broken,

we had lost what we once had in common,

if given a chance to rewind back again,

I’ll make sure our relationship maintain,

For I know that that is what I really want.
